As the United States and international donors continue to invest in vital health programs throughout the world, the importance of strengthening overall health systems performance is receiving greater attention by leaders at every level. Our expert panelists discussed innovative ways for strengthening health systems from every sector - NGO, government and private. Our featured speaker was Dr. P. Namperumalsamy, chairman of the Aravind Eye Care System, the winner of the prestigious 2008 Gates Award for Global Health. He discussed Aravind's unique business model for addressing quality service delivery and access for the very poor.
